Of course, Possum Kingdom Lake is always the best place to be during July in North Texas, but July also brings many unique events that make it an even better experience of the lake life. From iconic fireworks displays to live music from talented artists, there’s plenty of entertainment and activities for PK visitors and residents.
Keep in mind that the recent wildfires in Palo Pinto County may have some property and business owners operating with caution in regards to fireworks this holiday. If you are staying or visiting somewhere at PK, it might be a good idea to check ahead of time with the owner or manager and see if they are allowing personal fireworks.

If you’re planning on boating on PK, remember that watercraft operators must operate at a no-wake speed within 100 feet of any shoreline, dock, boathouse or more. This is a new regulation from BRA, up from the previous 50-foot rule.
Friday, July 1st
8:00 PM – PK General Store will feature musical guest Aaron McDonnell. Drawing his inspiration from artists like George Jones, Johnny Cash and Conway Twitty – McDonnell crafts his own country sound. PK General Store is a convenience store by day that transforms into a bar and event space on Friday and Saturday nights at their PK Corral. They are located at 2503 TX-16, Strawn, TX 76475. Come enjoy live music, signature drinks and delicious food.
8:00 PM – PK Palooza – The first annual PK Palooza at PK Ice House will start with live music from the Randy Brown Band. The event promises food, a full bar and yard games all weekend long. 8:00 PM – Fox Hollow – The Tell Runyan Trio will be performing at Fox Hollow. Fox Hollow is located at 4705 Fox Hollow Rd., Graham, TX 76450.
Saturday, July 2nd
9:45 AM Red, White and Blue Parade- The month kicks off in patriotic style with the 3rd annual Bluff Creek Marina Red, White and Blue Parade. Decorate your golf carts, bikes, side-by-sides, etc., in American flair and make the loop at Sportsman’s World. Vehicles will line up at 9:45 am and the parade will start at 10 am. Bluff Creek Marina is a full-service public marina just around the corner from Hell’s Gate. Bluff Creek Marina offers boat, kayak, personal watercraft and paddle board rentals.
7:30 PM – Hemmingway’s Craft House – Live music from Jacob Armitage. Armitage comes from Greenwood, TX. He stayed on the Texas Music Pickers chart for 12 weeks straight after his first single release. Hemmingway’s Craft House is a restaurant, bar and lounge located on the water at 3415 Scenic Point Road, Graford, TX 76449. Nine courtesy boat slips are available for visitors coming by boat.
8:00 PM – PK General Store – Bart Crow with Special Guest Bobby Irwin. Located at 2503 TX-16, Strawn, TX 76475.

8:30 PM – Liberty on the Lake Fireworks Show – Come over to Breakers Marina for food, fireworks and fun. The Breakers on Possum Kingdom Lake is located at 5001 Camp David Rd, Graham, TX 76450. The Breakers provides annual boat storage and 24-hour fuel pumps, with boating supplies available in the store.
Sunday, July 3rd
8:00 PM – PK Palooza – The third day of PK Palooza will feature a performance from Josh Ward. Some of the singer’s accomplishments include six No. 1 radio singles on the Texas Regional Radio Chart and more than 2 million views on Youtube. 8:00 PM – Fox Hollow – Tempting Disaster will be performing at Fox Hollow. Tempting Disaster describes themselves as Classic Rock with a sprinkle of country, playing anything from Hendrix to Haggard. Fox Hollow is located at 4705 Fox Hollow Rd., Graham, TX 76450.

9:00 PM – FIREWORK SHOW – The Dock/Hatchet House BBQ will set off a fireworks show from the parking lot (formerly known as Rockin’ S). The Dock is Possum Kingdom Lake’s newest source for boat and PWC rentals and chartered boat trips. Hatchet House BBQ has recently opened in the former Rockin’ S location and offers slow-smoked, Texas Style BBQ with unique menu items, axe throwing, live music, karaoke, trivia nights and more.

8:00 AM – Hell On Water Poker Run – The Hell On Water Poker Run at Breakers Marina on PK is a popular July event on Possum Kingdom Lake. The Possum Kingdom Muscle Boat Association welcomes all boat owners to this annual event. Registration begins at 8 am and the poker run starts at 10 am. $100 donation per hand. Progressive pot for best, second best and worst hand. There will be a live performance by South of Mayhem at Hell’s Gate. Proceeds benefit Possum Kingdom Fire Departments – East, West and Eliasville.
